Sick Sad Little World...

Living in the middle is hard you know. At one time u feel that u r all alone in this world, nobody seems to care and no one around u anymore. Then there will be time when u feel like everybody needs u..like damn need u! By that time u will feel that the world is moving around u and u don't have to walk coz everything will come across u while it's moving. Then it will stop again, and u have to walk or run or swim or fly or whatever to keep ur point of view of "things are moving".

This is me i think. I walk thru people every now and then. Some of them might recognize me and some might not. I see their lives like reading a storybook or comics or journals. Sometimes in this journey, people would call me for help or just wanna have a chat or wanna make friends temporarily. I'm ok with it coz at least i can take a little rest and let the world moving around me for a while....and after that it just goes on and on...the world will stop moving and i will walk again until the next call.

If let's say i can be the 8th of The Endless, what name should i bear?

KEMBALI

A year without blogging. Yeah I know, it's been a while (cliche statement when someone left blogging for a damn long time).

In conjunction with Butterfingers latest album called KEMBALI, I would like to dedicate this post as a 'KEMBALI' post. A come back which conclude everything that has happened throughout a year of no-post-syndrome. Let's KEMBALI to my tagline above:

Life:

• It seems good. I've been graduated recently and just finished my convocation ceremony. I've got a job in Vastalux Energy Berhad (Formerly known as Vastalux Sdn Bhd).
• Music is still being a major part of me. But lately I've seldomly played my guitar much maybe because of my buzy-ness working and came home late and then get tired. The industry have seen a quite drastic changes with all the so-called 'indie' bands popping out from everywhere! Whenever i went to gigs, the crowds are not the same as before anymore. The generation has changed. We'll talk about this changes later ok...ehehe
• Political wise, we're paving our way to Putrajaya soon InsyaAllah. I love living in the countr which is full of surprises. It's like living in a circus, watching those clowns performing and expecting many surprises which are surely will happen. This is...MY country recently.

Lovers:

• Thank God it has been a wonderful experience. Just let it go when the time was right.
• It's good to know that some of us are already married, engaged and (ehem ehem) waiting for a newborn baby! Alhamdulillah, hidup makin sempurna.
• For those who recently found their loved ones, spread the message to the whole world! Let the love be a gigantic MIRROR to the world! Give them the reflection of love!

Of Ramadhan, Weekend, and Ignorant Police...

Assalamualaikum dan slamat menyambut Ramadhan Al-Mubarak kpd semua umat Islam seantero dunia (if posting aku nih smpai kat galaksi lain...slamat berpuasa jugak utk kalian...mane tau jd mcm transformers kan)

Weekend nih mmg free...free habes!! Somehow it makes me think "When was the last time i had a weekend like dis??"....weekend yg mmg xde aktiviti penting utk dihadiri atau dikelola....weekend yg x payah risau nk stadi for test or quiz.....weekend yg x payah risau pasal any assignment yg blom buat (ade sbenanye sket2...but still can handle la)

Pagi td aku g KLIA utk anta kazen aku balik Jepun....tengah2 tunggu kazen aku check-in...ternampak la aku 2 org minah omputih ni kalut kibut berjalan anak pantas bak nk terkencing tang tu gak....tetibe minah omputih nih stop n sorang drpd die tuh duduk n muntah2 dlm plastik....member die sorang lg try menenangkan keadaan ngan gosok2 blakang member yg tgh muntah nih....

Ape yg aku nk ckp tentang cite di atas bukan pasal minah tuh muntah....tp sbb ape yg aku nk cite rite now nih...

On the same time...ade 2 org polis bantuan pelancong lalu kat depan antara aku n omputih tuh...ape yg polis ni ckp, "batal posa", kate sorang drpd polis ni kat member die.....dan on the same time gak ade dlm 3-4 org polis bantuan pelancong PEREMPUAN MELAYU berdiri dlm 2-3 meter drpd si pesakit yg tgh muntah nih...but what they did?? bile nampak je minah tu muntah...all of them left the place ngan muka yg macam annoying gile....n tinggal sorang je polis kat situ....yg pada pandangan aku langsung x membantu....hanya berdiri dan memerhati walau dr jarak dekat.....bukan kate nk pegi tanye "mam can i help u?"...tidak sama sekali!!

Somehow it makes me think.. ape nk jadi ngan masyarakat Malaysia skang?? Ok la mayb aku bersalah gak sbb x offer pertolongan...but for God's sake there were soo many police there yg spatutnya ade authority yg lebih utk tolong orang!!! n what they did was just watching n doing nuthin!! Cukup la sekadar insiden peluru hidup kat Batu Burok recently...jangan la nanti sampai tourists pun komen pasal ke-tidak-peduli-an polis kita terhadap keselamatan dan kebajikan mereka sepanjang berkunjung ke Malaysia yg mmg terkenal ngan sikap rakyatnya yg 'peramah' dan 'berbudi pekerti mulia'....bodoh kan?? Nah!! Inilah REALITI!!

Flight delay!! damn la Air Asia...flight patut kul 9.15pm delay smpai 10.30pm....mmg BAB..!! Sib baik aku bawak laptop....bukak laptop dlm flight....layan Naruto Shiipuuden...hahahah.... Sampai kat Kota Kinabalu pukul 1am....kelihatan Ava sudah menunggu dgn senyum manis ala perempuan Kadazan (mmg Kadazan pun) menyambut kedatangan pelancong sambil memegang beberapa flyers about Sabah (macam aku ni jakun sangat...mmg pun...hahaha)....anyway Ava bawak aku g ronda2 KK pada malam hari n tros hantar ke tempat penginapan

Bangun pagi...dongak ke langit....cuaca amat cerah!! hahahaha....bagus jalan2 nih

Makdik dtg amik around 10am like dat...together wif Mijah (tuan punye keta), Ili (tunggu convo) and Ava (as expected)...we all went straight to Kundasang sbb aku nk g tengok gunung (sori la beb...gua mmg jakun...x pnah dtg sabah)....but i tell u scenery all the way tuh mmg superb!!! marvelosss!!! we drove smpai entrance to Kinabalu Park but sadly xleh masuk dalam sebab ade Climbathon...so kene tunggu jap....so utk tidak membuang masa...we go straight to pasar Kundasang...the girls bought some flowers ('some'?!! pnuh bonet keto!!)...after dat we went to Ranau coz Mijah nk g tgk lembu new zealand...hahahahah....starting dis point aku la yg jadik driver....but sadly x nampak batang kaki lembu pun!!! dengan prasaan kachiwa nye...naik la balik ke Kundasang

Sampai kat Kinabalu Park...still xleh masuk....but after tunggu a bit longer...at last diorang bagi masuk....so we drove all the way to the top where all the climbers started their walk...but sad n sad sadly!!! KABUS TEBAL!!! adeehh...mmg rugi la x nampak scenery yg katenye amat lawa tuh...daaaammmnnn!!!! lalu kami pun turun la balik dgn prasaan pnuh frustrated nye (aku sorang je frust kot)

Turun balik ke KK....we went back to UMS...then they showed me the beach kat blakang UMS....lawa siooottt!!! UNITEN mane ade benda camnih!! I took pics at the beach...cambiase ah...aku mmg x tahan tgk scenery camnih

Malam; we all went to Tanjung Lipat Corner (TLC) for dinner....hujan lebat....sib baik ade meja bawah roof....gue order Nasik Goreng Lalap (nasik goreng + ayam + sayur2 + sos).....soooo nice one!!! one more is kepak ayam bakar....ni mmg a must try food kalo dtg sabah!!! besar gile kepak ayam die!! (aku xtau ayam ape...sebat je)....then we went to pasar malam to buy some souvenirs....just bought brooches and butang baju mlayu for my dad

Bangun pagi...dongak ke langit...damn!!! cloudy!!! camne nk g pulau nih!!

Makdik dtg amik sekitar pukul 9 like dat...together wif Ili n their fren Azza....Mijah got class...Ava oledi went to UTM Skudai for Bridge Competition...we went straight to Jesselton Point to catch a boat to Pulau Sapi....n luckily we got one n the weather was not that bad

Arrived at Pulau Sapi after 15 minutes merentas ombak (sakit bontot!!)....n what else to do...SNORKELLING!!! hhahahah....FYI Pulau Sapi located kat blakang Pulau Manukan...ni mmg spot femes utk snorkelling dlm kawasan Tunku Abdul Rahman Park nih....eventhough coral reef die dh byk mati....but there are still fishes la...amat best!!! aku sumpah 777 keturunan utk sape2 yg dh rosakkan coral reef tuh!!! bodo la weh!!! anak cucu aku nk tengok ape nanti!!!

We went back to KK around 2pm...masing2 dah sunburn...lapar....so we went to Rafflesia Chicken Hut....makan2....not bad la...fast food cam Chicken Rice Shop tp lg best...hahahaha....after dat went to Masjid Negeri to pray2...then g amik Dr.Mijah (hehehe) kat hospital

Disebabkan aku nk sangat tengok sunset sbelom berlepas pulang...so we went to Tanjung Aru...a beach located near the airport....ni mmg spot lawa....aku tunggu sunset sambil 'menembak' ke langit....banyak gak gambar-gambar eksperimen kat sinih....biase la beb nk abeskan sisa2 idup aku kat KK....but siyesli the scene was....perrrgghh!!! i like the sky kat Sabah....amat mengujakan!!!

8.15pm....they sent me to airport...say gudbye....then i check-in....makan2....masuk dalam....then like usual....flight delay!!! patut kul 9.15pm jadi 10.25pm...sial kan??? arrived at LCCT kul 12.25am....my uncle picked me up then i was totally exhausted....kpale otak pnuh ngan kenangan indah di Sabah

Conclusion and Acknowledgement

Overall....bole dikatakan this is the best trip i've ever had!!! Travelling alone to an unfamiliar place...ade travel guides yang teramat laaa peramah dan pemurah nye....everything went so well (except utk weather yg x memihak tuh la)...and the spectacular scenery that i wont forget for lifetime....Sabah mmg bagi aku la...kalo korang xpnah pegi....n kalo korang nature lover.....tolong pegi ok!! TOLONG PEGI!!!

Alhamdulillah syukur ke hadrat Ilahi sbb akhirnya aku dapat gak jejakkan kaki ke bumi Borneo nih....timekasih gak kpd bapak aku yg sponsor tiket...kpd mak aku yg bagi duit sket....kpd Ava yg menguruskan everything started from April sampai la aku sampai sana (no words can describe my gratitudes to u)....kpd Makdik yg bertanggungjawab selaku Biro Program (thanx coz menguruskan schedule aku...u r the best!!)....to Mijah yg sudi bagi pinjam kereta (anda mmg terbaeekk!!!)....to Ili yg secara tiba2 termasuk dalam list (thanx for being there n menambahkan kecheriaan suasana...it wont be happier without u)....and also thanx to Azza for accompanying us to Pulau Sapi (nice knowing u)....to AirAsia yg sudi bawak aku pegi-balik (TQ Mr.Fernandez for the cheap ticket)....to brader bawak bot yg sudi bawak kitorang g pulau....kpd semua yg terlibat dlm siri perjalanan nih....TERIMA KASIH x terhingga diucapkan untuk sokongan dan restu kalian....semoga jumpa lagi di lain hari....watch out Sabah, i'll be back!!

Merdeka 1 (sukahati ibu dan ayah mereka)

Assalamualaikum,

Dah lame aku x tulis kat sini...lame gak la sampai aku sendiri pun taktau nk start dari mana....so nak bagi senang cerita....jom sembang...sembang pasal MERDAYKA

Smalam aku terbaca blog member (Najwan) yang menceritakan tentang lagu Negaraku (yang skarang ni HITZZZ gile)....agak-agak kalo masuk Billboard bleh chart topping hit tuh...paling koman sminggu....semua hasil 'kreativiti' rakyat Malaysia sendiri yang menggubah dan adun semula lagu tu dengan irama bunyi ala-ala hip-hop dan gaya nyanyian 'rap'....diselit pula dengan nada-nada sinis sindiran, teguran mahupun kutukan...semua lengkap (Fusion gamaknye)

Dan disentuh juga tentang asal-usul lagu kebangsaan yang 'kantoi' akhirnya...rupanya dipetik dari lagu Mamula Moon gubahan Pierre Jean Berager dari Peranchis...hahahhaa...aku ingat lagi masa belajar sejarah dulu...cikgu bagitau lagu Negaraku asalnya dari lagu Terang Bulan iaitu lagu rasmi negeri Perak...tapi rupanya ada rahsia tersembunyi disitu...ada seseorang yang ditindas dan namanya dipadam disitu...yea tuan2 dan puan2....tak lain tak bukan...Pierre Jean Berager....komposer asal lagu Mamula Moon yang akhirnya diciplak oleh Perak (dengan tajuk pun nk ciplak...apekejadah la orang yang bagi idea nih)...dan akhirnya diambil secara 'sah' oleh kerajaan Malaysia sebagai lagu kebangsaan yang kita dengar hari ini...

Aku taknak sentuh la kisah lain...kisah bendera...kisah tu kisah ni....semua kisah tu malas la aku nak kupas panjang...lagi baik hadirin sekalian pergi menjenguk blog saudara Najwan....moral daripada semua ini ialah sampai bila nk jadi camnih!!!

tatkala para penggubah lagu dan penggiat seni menyuarakan bantahan terhadap cetak rompak....
tatkala para seniman bertarung mempertahankan royalti....

tatkala itu sejarah sebenar lagu kebangsaan ditutup ceritanya...
tatkala itu masyarakat terus menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan yang pada asalnya memang cetak rompak....
tatkala itu kita terus dilabel sebagai negara cetak rompak...
bukan kerana lanun-lanun CD atau DVD....
tapi dek kerana lanun-lanun yang kita sendiri pun dah tak kenal mana satu....
semua bagai satu

aku tak kesah sama ada lagu ni diambil secara sah atau tak....tapi paling koman cerita la betul-betul..ape nk takut?? takut dilabel sebagai penyokong blok Barat?? takut dilabel sebagai penyangak harta intelek?? takut dilabel sebagai lanun no.1 dunia???.....ko x cite pun orang dah tau!!!

Goyang-kakee

"Pre-Engineer Season". Yups! It's industrial training period for me commencing from yesterday (160407) til 060707...it's day 2 today and i'm sitting on my boss' chair, using his computer to type this blog...everybody's out to the President's new high-end house (it's for real!!)....not much to do but i hope there'll be something for me to write n present when this period ends...better late than never though.

It's still early for me to get back into my musical enthusiasm again since works are just started...tomorrow there'll be GEMA at MMU Cyberjaya and i heard Butterfingers will be the guest band (most of my posts ade name Butterfingers kan?? hahahah)...mayb next week i'll unwrap my guitar and start running my fingers on its fretboard again...it's been a while since i last played her (HER??!!)...hahahaha....i miss those days anyway...when we could all gathered and play our own guitars in circle....those were the the glorious days...salute to all my bandmates whom i played with throughout these years and for those who still sharing the journey with me...let's make a real blast someday!!

HECTIC!!

yea i know i've been away for about 2 months...away without leaving any words here...the truth is i've been busy (and i know it's a lame excuse) but it's true anyway...so i'll try to summarize everything in this post

• Muse World Tour - the big band was here in KL!! went to stadium negara with nard, cha n along...n we sat together with garseng, jj, mio, mad, gaza....ramai la!!! it was really a blast!! they got everything from showmanship, lighting, sound system, crowds, the atmosphere...the best of everything was mixed well in nearly 2 hours of continuous music!!

• Uniten Relief Team to Batu Pahat - yups..i've been chosen as one of the commitee member for Uniten Relief Team...we went to Batu Pahat on 10-11 February 2007...about 120 students were involved in this charity program to help the flood victims in Batu Pahat in collaboration with Rakan Muda and Kementerian Belia dan Sukan...and tell u what...it was a damn tiring program!!! i designed everything from posters, flyers and even the tags...butAlhamdulillah everything went well...KUDOS to us!!

• The Otherside Of Uniten ; A Photography and Short Film Competition - the photography unit (currently known as Uniten Shutters) had came out with what i should call 'a big-break for our existence' when we started this competition...it was really nice to see what engineering and IT students could do when it comes to creativity and arts...u all should watch the winning short film...damn nice!! I'd like to say a heartiest THANK YOU and CONGRATZ to Uniten Shutters...next sem kita merdeka!!!

• ASTENA JammFest '07 - Anak Seni Tenaga Nasional (ASTENA) once again organized this event...my band was chosen as one of the top 13 bands to compete in the final...but we didn't won (again!!)....but its ok anyway...at least we tried and talk to what we considered as 'political bulshits'....and all the bulshitters were there...and we smack them on the head!! hahahahaha....if u r one of the audience for jammfest....u should know who they are (clue : ko ingat ko rockstar sangat??!!!)

that's all for now kot....diriku teramat sewel sekarang....i badly miss someone...but i think i shouldn't.....but i really do.....but i'm sooo bz....n my lecturer keep giving tasks like we're a superficial-being with robotic-heart...which means....we're DEAD! bye

_SHIFT the future...

I just wanna write a short post here with a main question :

"Can we shift sumthin without changing its current condition?"

Let's think of an example here shall we. Let's say if you like pizza sooo damn much, and you want it to be your main course everyday. For breakfast, lunch, tea-time, dinner, supper...you always want that pizza like you already fall deeply in love wif it. So now you're shifting your pizza, from twice a week to an everyday meal, without changing its current conditions, which are; it's pizza; it's your most favourite food. It's just that you don't want that pizza to dissapear and lost in time. You don't want others to take your favourite pizza. But it's ok if others still like the same pizza, as long as they don't like it as much as you do. You want that pizza to be there for you always...coz you believe that there's no one on earth can love that pizza as much as you do...but you still want it to be the same pizza, same taste, same ingredients....could it be possible?

It's always possible for me....

Butters & Friends : Butter Worth Pushful 10th Annyversary Showcase (130107) @ ZOUK KL

Butterfingers did it again this time!! If any of you still remember their 2nd album Butter Worth Pushful on 1997...it's the 10th annyversary and everybody gathered together for the last time at Zouk KL to watch them live on stage performing a long set from the album.

The show started quite late, 4pm, Damn Dirty Apes was the opening band for the day with their space-reggae style. Like usual, i didn't get the chance to watch the opening band. Me n Bleak went to KLCC to get something to eat...1901 hotdogs!! hahaha...when we're back at Zouk, Republic Of Brickfields was on stage and the crowd still standing and moving slowly; almost unmotioned; well...i bet they do coz most of them came for Butterfingers!! But as expected, when OAG on stage, everybody was crazy like hell!! the packed crowds suddenly got wild, moshing, jumping, diving...while me n other crew members were busy setting things up for Butterfingers. Tuning their guitars, setting their gadgets, preparing the camera, find the best angle bla bla bla...fuuhh

It was about 6.50pm and Butterfingers got up on stage...and also as expected...the crowds went hysterically crazy!! They played a little stupid tune for soundcheck (2 songs called C# and D#...hahahahaha)...then they took a break at 7.15pm. 15 minutes after that, Butterfingers were seen on stage, all geared up, Loque make some noise with his guitar, and everybody else does actually...then the show begins!! Luckily i got a better angle than last week, and i change my position whenever they change their guitars...thanx to those bodyguards from Zouk for being a human barricade...u guys rawks!!!

I might say i was a little dissapointed with the show yesterday coz Butterfingers was supposed to be the main act...yet they were short of time so they have to cancel 4 songs!! (and that includes Mating Season...you should know how dissapointed i was)....but luckily they played Delirium, one of my most favourite song!! Oh yea and also Ruin By The Selling Out...damn nice man!!

I wanna give my biggest, heartiest THANK YOU to the people who involved in this showcase:

Butters & Friends : The Warm-up Session

It was Saturday and everybody was rushing to Zouk KL for the first time; full line-up performance by Butterfingers since early 2005!! I was asked by UGLY to shoot the video with other 2-3 cameraman (and a woman also).

The show started at about 3.30pm with 18SGG as the opening band. Not much to say about this band coz i was at the entrance that time (tgh tolong Tajul jaga pintu). After 18SGG was Prana and...well...if you ever heard their new tunes....you better judge 'em yourself la kan?? (hahahaha)...after that was Seven Collar T-Shirt and what else could i say about them..Duan's vocal is hard to beat...Ham's creative effects lead SCTS to another dimension...then came Love Me Butch...the crowd suddenly gone wild and i got to watch them from the VIP section...hahahaha...have to get ready for the main act...BUTTERFINGERS!!!

Just after LMB finished, Emmett got up on stage and the crowd suddenly gone "Waaaarrrghhh!! Emmett!!! Arrrghhh!!!"...hahahah gile la diorang nih...i searched for the best angle to shoot the video but sadly the front stage area was packed already!! then i decided to sit on the stage, in front of Emmett himself...so i was in the middle between raging crowds n him...n for God sake i had a back pain today coz the crowd keep pushing me for the whole Butterfingers set!!! Hopefully next week i'll get a better angle. Then after the show we all just lepak outside Zouk then move on to Pelita Nasi Kandar (nearby KLCC) to eat n do some post-mortem. Me, all the RoyalButterfingers crews, Emmett n his wife Terrina.

Rock The World 7

Peace be upon you and hello...

Rock The World 7 has just finished...3 stages in one stadium...50 performances...and about 30,000 (or more) crowds!! it was the biggest concert ever done!! music lovers from all over country came down to Stadium Merdeka yesterday for the sake of music, for the sake of entertainment, for the sake of being so bored back home....whatever it is...Rock The World 7 was seriously a blast!!

I can't give you a a complete report about all the bands yesterday coz there are 3 stages and i can only be at one place at one time. But briefly, it started around 3.30pm, i was at the main stage watching Tempered Mental and in the middle of the show i moved to Indie Stage and watch Y2K there. It's just like that, moving here and there. At last i get to watch performing at Rock The World. I still remember when i first met them, i asked Ajin (Guitarist) "Apsal x main kat rock the world?"...and he said "Tu la..blom sampai mase lg kot"....hahahaha...and it all paid yesterday. KUDOS to Brainhead!! Others most awaited act was Infectious Maggots and Koffin Kanser. It's been so long since i watch Koffin Kanser performing live. And i never watch Infectious Maggots before, i only read bout them back when i was at secondary school...and truly...they just like what i read...a very tight hardcore set!! double-pedal cam peluru!!

The sound system...hmm...i would say the best was at Indie Stage...it all mixed well. The Main Stage had the most poor sound system. I don't know why but there was like a soft barrier that wrap the sound from coming out. So sad when Love Me Butch had to play with such sound...Meng's guitar dengar sket2 je!! Not enough energy to boost la!! But anyway...i entered the mosh-pit when LMB's playing and Kapal raised me up to the air...let me sit on his shoulder so i was like on top of the world!! hahahaha thanx dude!! Even there were 3 performances on the same time, the sound didn't mix with each other, so if you're at the Discovery Stage, you won't hear other stages' sound when you have a band performing right in front of u.

The magic about RTW is that even if you go there all alone, u might meet someone that u know!! Seriously dude...i've been to Rock The World for years and i met lots of people, and we still know each other till now. But it's not like fren-fren things la. It's just for the sake of music! hahaha...oh yea i met Emmett (Butterfingers), he went there all alone without Terrina, and we gave flyers to the crowd. Rock The World is definitely the benchmark when it comes to local music scene. People gathered just for the sake of music. Don't care if you're metalheads, punkheads, skankin, raggamufins, skinheads...we're all bonded together...No Boundaries! Under One Flag We Stand!!

I would like to express my heartful gratitudes to all the bands and organizer for such a wonderful event. A big THANK YOU to Matlut for picking me up at KL Sentral, to Kapal for his hospitality, to Evert and all UNITEN students for being there, to Jalal, Jeri, Pok Chat for being there also, to Sabti, Peja and his gf for accompanying me a lot throughout the concert, to all the music lovers for taking part and share our passion together, and lastly, to all of u who read this blog...heheheh...UNITE!!

First thing first...about the hottest film in town now...CINTA....i've watched it 2 times....on sunday 10 Dec and tuesday 12 Dec...komen??.....hmmmm.....i dare not to giv any comments la coz u can see it for yourself kan....betapa movie tu dpt sambutan...everyday sure ramai gile or SOLD OUT!! so??? for those yang x tgk lg tuh...what r u waiting for?? pergi lah menonton bersama yang tersayang....x kesah la makwe, pakwe, member2, adik, kakak, abang, adik ipar, ex-gf, ex-bf, long lost love, mak, bapak, atuk, nenek, sume bole!!! hahhahahhah...seriusli worth it!!

DREAMS

I've just finished reading The Sandman Vol. 5 : A Game Of You. The story about Barbie n her dreams, the evil Cuckoo, Barbie's companions, weird creatures, weird dreams...huh...everything is just weird in sandman.

Went out to meet Aniese today, she got a new baby sister. Asha Zahra if i'm not mistaken. A very cute baby girl, but quite small. We talked n talked for bout an hour there. Me, Beha, Lee,n Jaa.

I told my parents bout my result, GPA 2.18. Well, of course it's not an excellent one but they (my parents) react like i've won a gold medal or sumthin. What a big surprise though...

For a while i sat n thought, how dreams can change our world. Dream is like an infinite world where you can travel beyond impossibilities, some called it imagination, i called it a realm. It is in dream where you can learn bout life. It is in dream where you will know how to appreciate something. Considering both bad dreams (or some called it nightmares) or good dreams (or sweet dreams?).

Can you ever imagine a world without dreams? How can we appreciate delight if there is no delirium? How can we own a car if we haven't dream of having it? How can we value the taste of winning if we never had a dream of it, or mayb, if we always had nightmares of losing or being a total loser?

My parents appreciated my result so much just because they already had nightmares of me getting really bad grades. I gave it to them, the nightmares, the bad dreams. I love someone-you-know-who-you-are because she's my dream, that drove me hope. My friend Aniese are so proud of having a baby sister, because it's one of her dream to get another one.

So can you imagine a world without it? Kept dreaming and you'll find it, somewhere in you...

Butterfingers 1.2miligrams Showcase : DAY 2 (26 Nov 2006)

Untuk hari ke-2 kejadian..aku tiba agak lewat drpd time yg tertera di flyers...tp ternyata x rugi...band undangan pada hari tu (Kapal Selam) lewat buat soundcheck...so aku pegi...jumpe Din, Kapal n the band, pastuh g salin baju (pakai baju rasmi gig tuh) then amik tag CREW....trus lepak depan pintu masuk....hahahaha....kene kerja la beb!!

Takde ape sangat yang aku nk type tentang second day nih...setlist ade la berubah a few songs (byk la jugak actually)....actually bukan xde ape utk ditaip...cuma byk sangat sampai aku xleh nk susun dalam ayat yg proper...so aku bagi dlm point form je la ek...randomly :

- show start lewat...tp crowd x patah smangat...ramai gile!! lg ramai drpd ari seblom tu!!
- aku jaga pintu jap...pastuh masuk g lepak tepi drum
- pada pertengahan show...air Coke diorang abes...akuuuu la jugak yg kena g tambah (malang btul dok tepi drummer nih...sume barang kat tepi die)
- pada pertengahan show jugak...pick gitar Emmett patah...pastuh die mintak pick aku...tukar ngan pick patah die tuh...uwaaaaaaa!!! abes pick gua baru beli....tp takpe...janji Emmett yg pakai...hahahahaha
- Kalai (drummer) mintak RM20 sbb aku sebat air Coke die...siot lu Kalai!!!
- Parents n adik pompuan Loque datang bagi support...bagus btul la parent die nih...anak takde kat sini pun still bg support kat band anak die...patut pun anak main muzik hebat gile!!
- Actually mase 1st day, wayar adapter efek Emmett putus!! crowd menggila!! so arinih Bob ditugaskan utk kawal crowd...hahaha...padan muke lu Bob...ari sabtu tu sedap je dok gelak kat aku....hahahahaha
- Arini xde photo session....abes je show...crowd ramai2 naik stage nk bergambar ngan Butterfingers...seriusli x terkawal!!
- Kalai x dpt tangkap drum beat lagu Cuai (actually lagu tu takde dlm setlist...saje je Emmett main)....ending tu sket baru die dpt....hahahahah

Tapi pernahkah anda terfikir siapa pencipta lirik dan lagu nya?? Saya telah berusaha mencari jawapan bagi persoalan ini tetapi masih belum berjaya. Grunge....???

Seperti yang dijanjikan, saya akan mengutarakan isu Grunge dalam post kali nih. So sit back and read carefully...

Grunge; Apa itu Grunge?? Seringkali kita terdengar perkataan ini disebut2 sama ada di peringkat budak sekolah rendah, sekolah menengah, universiti, orang kerja, orang takde kerja, semua pasti pernah terserempak atau terlibat dalam ape yang dikatakan Grunge. Tapi yang menjadi persoalan ialah apabila disoal, lain pula jawapan nya. Ada yang terus mengatakan "Grunge tu Kurt Cobain la!"...ada pula yang berpendapat "Grunge tu budaya negatif, dadah, arak". Jadi ape sebenarnya Grunge??

Grunge berasal dari Seattle, sebuah bandar di Barat Laut AS. Pada tahun 1970an dan 80an, muzik heavy metal dan glam rock amat kuat pengaruh di AS. Band2 seperti Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, Black Sabbath, semua ini boleh dikatakan antara nama besar dalam scene muzik AS ketika itu. Ketika scene metal sedang melonjak naik, Punk juga sedang mengumpul pengaruhnya di AS. Punk berasal dari British melalui band seperti Sex Pistols, Rancid etc...baiklah, kita hentikan cerita tentang Punk, nanti melalut plak.

Jika dilihat daripada perkembangan muzik Seattle di atas, tidak salah untuk kita katakan yang Grunge adalah gabungan daripada kedua-dua genre muzik metal dan punk. Grunge itu RAW, mentah, kotor. Tapi jangan salah anggap, itu hanyalah terma muzik nya sahaja (walaupun ramai pioneer grunge mmg macam tu)...hahahaha....cuba anda bayangkan gabungan antara riff gitar yang berat daripada muzik metal...cuma lebih bingit (kurang Gain, kuat Treble)...dan dimainkan dengan tempo yg sedikit perlahan daripada muzik metal (seperti punk)...itulah muzik Grunge...at least...pada awalnya. Liriknya berkisarkan tekanan perasaan, kehidupan masyarakat, sosial dan lain2. Berbeza daripada punk yang sering bercerita tentang kebebasan mutlak, penentangan, pemberontakan...grunge lebih versatile stail muziknya...tidak terikat dengan apa2 jenisan...mahupun rock bingit atau akustik...selagi ianya raw...dengan bunyi gitar yang kadang2 disusuli bunyi feedback amplifier...itulah Grunge.

Grunge bukan sekadar muzik semata2, ia merupakan state of mind...meliputi fesyen, view of life, muzik....pendek kata semua mesti grunge lah! ! Baju lusuh (bundle laaa...), kasut kanvas (converse? jack parcel?), rambut serabai, jeans koyak sket2....itulah fesyen para Grungies pada awalnya (skang pun ade lagi). Tapi jangan disamakan grunge dengan punk atau metal...punk ade dresscode tertentu mengikut fahaman mereka...ade falsafah tertentu...metal pula ketika itu mesti dark, mesti rambut panjang gile....glam rock toksah cite la...baju nampak dada luas, seluar ketat, rambut mengerbang, headband....fuuhhh...name lagi glam-rock kan...glamour!!

Pengasas Grunge?? hmm...susah untuk saya katakan disini...tapi ape yg saya tahu, orang pertama yang menggunakan terma Grunge ialah Mark Arm, vokalis band Green River (kemudian Mudhoney) ketika mendifinisikan muzik bandnya sebagai "pure grunge, pure shit!". Dari saat itu, media telah melabelkan semua band yang muziknya agak2 sama dengan Green River sebagai GRUNGE. Ada yang melabelkan Neil Young, bekas anggota Pearl Jam (masih ingat lagu Keep On Rockin' In A Free World??) sebagai The Godfather Of Grunge kerana kekerapannya menggunakan distortion gitar dan hasil kerjanya bersama band lama Crazy Horse.

Awal 90an; Grunge masuk mainstream! Inilah saatnya dunia mengenali Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden,The Smashing Pumpkins, Mudhoney dan banyak lagi!! Grunge sudah mula menular keluar daripada kepompong Seattle dan pelbagai festival muzik seperti Lollapalooza telah diadakan sempena 'demam' Grunge!! Cuba anda dengar lagu2 band di atas, pasti anda akan berkata "Yang mana satu grunge ni? Semua lain2"...hahahaha....tapi jika diamati ciri2 yang telah saya berikan sebelum ini, pasti anda akan jumpa persamaannya. MTV telah mula menayangkan video2 klip band grunge seperti Soundgarden dan Nirvana. Label2 besar telah berani untuk mempertaruhkan band2 ini di arus perdana dunia. Ketika ini kita dapat menyaksikan zaman kemuncak grunge, yang telah menenggelamkan metal (yes..even Metallica pun susah nk cari makan lepas Black Album!!) dan muzik2 lain.

Kematian Kurt Cobain pada 1994 telah memberi impak yang besar kepada scene grunge dunia. Ini diikuti dengan berita kematian Kristen Pfaff (Hole) dan sebelum itu, pada 1990, Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone) telah meninggal dunia yang membawa kepada pembubaran band tersebut. Semua kes kematian disebabkan overdose Heroin. Ini telah memberi tamparan yang hebat kepada scene Grunge. Mereka dilabel sebagai penagih dadah dan golongan yang tak bermoral. Tahun 1996 telah menyaksikan banyak band grunge berkubur. Pearl Jam dengan album terakhirnya No Code, Alice In Chains membuat persembahan terakhir bersama vokalisnya Layne Staley (yang meninggal dunia pada tahun 2000 juga kerana heroin), Soundgarden dan The Screaming Trees turut merilis album studio terakhir mereka. Nirvana juga telah merilis album live mereka From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah yang merupakan rilisan terakhir mereka sebelum menyepi selamanya. Itulah tahun terakhir yang menyaksikan otai2 grunge dunia bergiat dalam scene muzik. Grunge telah mati (Grunge is Dead) dengan meninggalkan 'anak2' nya; Alternative dan Post-Grunge yang lebih radio-friendly muziknya (Creed, Nickelback)..sekadar menyebut beberapa nama.

Sekarang di Malaysia sendiri telah banyak band yang lahir daripada demam Grunge. Butterfingers ialah nama besar yang tak harus disingkirkan daripada proses evolusi ini. Cuma lama kelamaan mereka 'dituduh' telah lari daripada asal usul mereka...Grunge. Tapi jika dilihat definisi Grunge itu sendiri sebagai sesuatu yang raw...mentah...unpolished...Butterfingers still got it right! Sukar untuk saya bercerita mengenai scene grunge di Malaysia kerana usia ketika itu baru setahun jagung (darjah 5...darjah 6 camtuh). Tetapi yang pasti, ramai anak2 muda sekarang yang 'Grunge'-nya hanya sekadar ucapan. Mereka tidak tahu asal usul dan root asal muzik itu (masih ada budak skolah yang mengeja Grunge sebagai Grunch! hahaha). Sedarlah bangsaku...

Di bawah ini saya sertakan riwayat hidup Grunge. Hijau untuk band yang telah pupus. Oren untuk band yang masih aktif. Kelabu untuk band yang agak2 akan aktif untuk 2-3 taun lagi.

The Sky Is Falling...

It's a sunny Wednesday...nice weather outside (i must enjoy this sunshine b4 the whole sky is covered by darkness...it's monsoon season)

well...come to think bout music...bout the scene...i must admit that we're all here are much lack behind from others...or should i say...outsiders...let's make a little comparison with Europe shall we :

Architecture - lack 20 years
Movies - lack 10 years or more
Music ??? well..let's not compare it with Europe...just take Indonesia as another body...i must admit that we're lack about 100 years from them (???)

Now the matter is a big WHY...why we're so left behind?? why can't we do it like them?? why can't we create our own masterpiece??...so i got a few reason here :

1. Budaya terikut-ikut - yes it's true my friends...we're soooo crazy bout ikut2 orang...follow golongan purist yang seboleh2 tak nak muzik tu evolve...nk kekalkan originality lah konon...tak kire lah mainstream, underground,or tradisional...terlampau nk mintak approval drpd orang2 otai dluh b4 buat sumthin...golongan yg melampau ni la yang membantutkan evolusi muzik tu seniri...kalian setuju?
2. Budaya tangguk - x dinafikan...aku tangguk kat kat universiti (hehehe)....but when it comes to music...aku nampak orang kite menangguk tak hengat!! see...if somebody or some bands out there main muzik same cam certain2 bands...let's say...macam Nirvana la...sume orang sanjung...sume orang ckp "Ini la Nirvana Malaysia!"......tp bile ade band yg ubah sket muzik Grunge tuh ke level yg lebih tinggi...orang akan cakap "Ini Nirvana tak jadi!!".....it's the same wif nowadays Indon-Fever...sume orang dah jadi bodo....asal band Indon je...tros jalaannn....kasi tabik baeekk punya.....i must admit dat ade band Indon yang btul2 bagus macam Dewa19 n Padi...but some of them are just RUBBISH!!! actually diorang pun copycat gak....try study sket pasal diorang...compare muzik diorang ngan band2 old-school dulu from US or Europe....mesti ade nampak kesamaan yang ketara

Dulu kalo x silap aku M.Nasir pnah kutuk artis2 yg perform kat Juara Lagu (in this one particular year) buat persembahan yang primitif...lalu mcm biase...sume org melenting x hengat!! tp bile dipikirkan balik...btul gak ape yg M.Nasir cakap...mmg primitif...dok dalam gua seniri...tanak kuar...tanak explore...tanak evolve

Why don't we change a lil bit?? Why don't we start to make our own trademarks?? Kenapa kite xleh appreciate local music kite seniri?? Dalam hal nih aku blh jadikan Butterfingers sbg contoh....they came from Grunge image...Grunge music...then slowly they evolve n now on their 5th studio album, they started experimenting with Malay lyrics but in various arrangement. Actually they already did it since their 1st album. Songs like Royal Jelly (the violin intro), Chrome (the 'sempoi' gitar version of Ikan Kekek)...then in Transcendence they did it again wif the song Epitome (taken from Ketipang Payung)...n after that came Malayneum, the song Malayneum itself has very very high Malay flavour in it! That's how we gonna work it out...Butterfingers has set the standard...they know Grunge well before others know it (people always refer Grunge as Nirvana n not more than that...they are bloody wrong!!).....i'll write bout Grunge next time...heheheh
